Leisha Ann Higa
Teaching Portfolio

Hi there, I'm Leisha Ann!
For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to supporting the growth, well-being, and academic success of young children across local Hawai'i classrooms. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Studies from Walden University and Associates of Arts in Teacher Education, my professional foundation is rooted in a deep understanding of early development. My instructional background includes serving as a Paraprofessional Tutor at Manana Elementary School, followed by six years of service at Navy Hale Keiki School across Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. During my time at Hale Keiki School, I proudly advanced from an After School Care Provider to Teacher Assistant to running my own classroom as a Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. Grounded in high standards, I then transitioned to Navy Child & Youth Programs as a Training and Curriculum Specialist to mentor educators and manage compliance, before most recently serving as an Educational Assistant at Parkway Village Preschool.

Beyond the classroom, my diverse professional background includes providing critical administrative support as an Office Assistant at Highlands Intermediate School and the Leeward District Annex, as well as serving as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Hawai'i Army National Guard. These collaborative roles have heavily sharpened my organizational skills, professional communication, and ability to handle high-responsibility environments. Dedicated to the whole child, my focus remains entirely on building responsive relationships that inspire young learners to confidently explore, build independence, and thrive as lifelong learners.
